As a multiple dog owner and breeder, I want to create a puppy that wants my company and attention more than any other animal or person. I want my puppies watching my every move in search of clues about what we will do next or what happens when I'm around. I accomplished this binding process by not allowing access my puppies to my adult dogs once the pups were weaned and trying to be the most important person in their lives by spending as much time as possible with them. ... talk to them and interact with them quite frequently. I do not allow my puppies supervised visits with our other pups of the same age, several times a day and up to 1-2 hours each. It is very important that our puppies become social with each other and do not damage their temperaments attacking or intimidating another. I do not recommend making puppy obedience classes formalized at a young age, unless it is totally noncompulsive.

The best age to start obedience classes is approx. 12 to 14 weeks. Classes are sometimes held at your local YMCA or school ..... sometimes your vet will have information on puppy classes.

Even the calmest dog can become aggressive towards a new puppy.
A particularly aggressive dog could permanently disfigure or kill your puppy. Our puppies that are too young to go outside are raised indoors. If they are still with us when they are old enough to go outside, they are placed in a kennel run safely with another puppy or puppies to their age and size.
