Having been around for generations, pedal cars must be one of the most popular toys stand the test of time. There has been a lot of progress with ride on toys, but it is amazing how some of pedal cars are the same as those that were popular over sixty years ago, there are not many products that could claim that life, and still be going strong.

Like the full-size vehicles styles have evolved, so their versions of pedal cars. Many modern prestige cars such as Ferrari, BMW and Mercedes are available so Junior can have a car like dad, or a car like dreams of having Dad! The range is so broad that virtually anything on four wheels is represented by a pedal car as tractors children in many shapes and sizes, go-karts, trucks, ATVs, race cars, trains and fire trucks.
For toddlers, they may spend their first ride on toy which they sit easily on and push with their feet, their pedal powered car, truck or tractor. All ages are supported and toys help children develop their coordination and imagination skills as they enjoy the fresh air and exercise, what could be better?
As we entered the electronic age, a whole new range of riding toys emerged to form a new segment in the prestigious toy market. Batteries path extensive ranges on toys are now available for children of most ages to eat in the garden, park or farm. Son and daughters of farmers can now emulate their dads driving a tractor around the property with a trailer and loading accessories. Miniature versions of major brands such as John Deere can be seen parked next to their full size versions with children by helping mom and dad they practice for when they will one day lead the real thing.
In some parts of the country a large number of children were seen driving their electric powered ride on toys to school, parents are likely to walk! And children for tractors, most other types of powered pedals are available with an electric motor, some also have two seats for the driver can enjoy the ride with their friend or sibling. Typical two seat versions are Jeeps, Mustang and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs).
For older children, there really hi-tech looking karts and quads with Gas Powered and battery options. This is starting to get into some serious power for children over twelve years with forty miles per hour speed and engine 150cc sizes. This can hardly be classified as a toy and all safety equipment and precautions should be applied.
The world of racing on toys is certainly changing, it will be fascinating to see what develops over the next twenty years!
